Author Biography

Sandra Annett, Wilfrid Laurier University

Sandra Annett is associate professor in the Department of English and Film Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is the author of the book Anime Fan Communities: Transcultural Flows and Frictions (Palgrave, 2014), and has published articles on Japanese animation and digital cinema in The Journal of Postcolonial Writing, The Journal of Adaptation in Film and Performance, and Mechademia. She has developed and taught courses such as The Animated Film, Film Fans and Movie Stars, and Japanese Science Fiction. Her hobbies include modular origami, photography, and swing dancing.
