just one word...

"Laura Shapiro" (2008-09-15)

This is well-written and well-researched, and it's a pleasure to be able to see the ideas illustrated with images and clips from the shows and vids as you develop your points. I'm so glad to see this finally go out to the world!

I would ask you to think about one word: in [2.15], you list all the ways it's been suggested that Spock is coded, among them "an Asperger's sufferer". I feel that the word "sufferer" is problematic here; it gave me a jolt when I read it. In celebrating the creativity of women as they work around, evade, and confront sexism, it's important not to venture into ablism.
