A fascinating article, really an original perspective on the subject - I might have to go back to Haraway now and read her as Something Completely Different. Even if I completely disagree with your reading of Evangelion ;).

In that context, I think there may be more to say on the issue of Rei Ayanami being one of the greatest subjects of male fan desire in anime. Something perhaps on the fetishization of the artificial "doll" body versus the embrace of constructed identify, and harkening back to male and female exploration of sexuality in fandom... well, I ramble. Either way, you have got me thinking.
